No hungry child
Help us give Colorado kids
the protein they deserve.

Thank you for visiting Beef Bank Colorado where our mission is to create a world where no child in Colorado suffers from weekend food insecurity.

We're a non-profit organization committed to the goal of distributing high quality, high protein beef sticks into kids backpack programs throughout the state of Colorado.  Formed by members of the Colorado agriculture community – our goal is to raise funds that will be used to produce our very own Colorado “beef sticks” that will be placed in the “pak” of every child involved in a backpack program in the state of Colorado.

With the help of KidsPak of Loveland, Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, Arcadia Asset Management, Colorado Cattlemen’s, Colorado Livestock Association, Colorado State University, and many others we have been able to provide every food insecure child in Larimer County with one beef stick every weekend.  Our long term goal is to expand our program to the rest of the state.  Together we can end hunger and feed minds.

Beef - the ultimate protein

Beef is one of the most complete dietary sources of protein, rich in high quality vitamins and minerals that are proven to play a vital role in healthy brain development.

Kids need protein to learn

Growing children need adequate protein to help them build and repair cells, enzymes, and hormones, as well as provide energy.

A $1 million annual goal

Our goal is to raise $1 million every year to fund the beef stick program and provide every child in Colorado with reliable protein options.

Help us help them

Our goal is to provide a high quality beef stick in eack pak and ensure every child has access to delicious and nutritious protein.
In many cases, school-provided meals are the primary source of nutrition for some children.  Over 18,000 Colorado kids go hungry on weekends, and are especially deprived of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of protein that the FDA prescribes.  While it depends on age, gender, and weight, children ages 4 to 13 need about .45 grams of protein for every pound of body weight, or roughly 20 to 35 grams of protein per day.  Organizations like KidsPak in Loveland, Colorado provide children with packs of food every weekend.

And protein provides important essential amino acids that contribute to the mental and physical health of children.  Without enough protein in their diet, a child may experience symptoms including fatigue, lack of concentration, slowed growth, lowered immunity and more.  Beef is a tremendous source of that protein.
